My roleplaying game Rotten Crown is now free to download! The game is still in development, but I’m making it available now to let people see what I’ve been working on and gather feedback.
If you’d like to help me out or just play an rpg about living among the countless dead, head over to the games page and pick up the full current rulebook and character sheet. The game is planned to be greatly expanded, but it’s already sitting at a substantial 58 pages with quite a bit of artwork.
Any feedback is hugely appreciated! Virtually every comment system available to blogs requires a login, so I’ve created this form that you can share your thoughts on the game with. You can also reach out to me on Discord or Instagram if you have thoughts or questions.
The book is far from done, but getting this far feels like a big achievement. Thanks to my playtesters and cheerleaders for getting me over the hurdles!
I’ll keep posting new versions of the game as they’re released, along with patch notes and development commentary so you can see what changes and why. I hope it’ll be helpful not only for understanding the game, but as a model for how you can iterate larger projects like this.
As always, the game will be produced entirely without generative AI. Feels silly to have to say that but… look around. Have you seen Kickstarter lately? Euuughhh.
