The new version of Rotten Crown is now available for download.
This is a large update featuring changes and expansions to rules, party archetypes, player archetypes, equipment, and more.
My goals for this update were to clean up some of the rules, streamlining and unifying some gameplay concepts.
All of the character archetypes have been updated, with the heaviest changes being to the Pugilist. I got rid of the Meateater ability because I didn’t want to reinforce the weird relationship between eating meat (particularly raw meat) and physical toughness. I’ve replaced it with the Painful Lesson ability that gives the Pugilist useful Conflict Lore when they recover from combat injuries. I also extended the Headstrong ability to also work on allies within arm’s reach. I wanted at least one ability that encouraged teamwork instead of letting the Pugilist become a purely solo experience.
